Living Brisbane operates this event directory and organizer workspace. This policy explains the information we use to provide the site, manage accounts, fulfill promotion orders and respond to enquiries. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
1. Information you provide
We receive the details you enter when registering, managing an organizer profile, submitting or claiming a listing, placing an order, generating materials or contacting us. These can include your name, email address, organizer details, event content, public contact details, billing information and messages. Support requests may include the event or order you select and up to two images. Only provide information and images needed for your request.
2. Public listings and external sources
Event, venue and organizer information may also be collected from publicly available event websites and the sources recorded with a listing. This can include organizer names, event dates, locations, descriptions and public links. Published listings and profile information are public. Your private account settings, order records, support messages and support attachments are not published as directory content. Contact us to request a correction or review of a listing concerning you.
3. How information is used
We use information to run accounts, confirm email addresses, check listing ownership, publish and maintain the directory, process orders, provide purchased benefits, generate requested materials, respond to support requests, prevent abuse and maintain service records. Required fields let us perform the requested action; without them, we may be unable to create your account, complete an order or answer your message. Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, these purposes are supported by performing a contract or taking steps you request, complying with legal obligations, protecting the service and users through legitimate interests, or consent where required.
4. AI features
When you request an AI feature, the event information, instructions and selected source material needed for that feature are sent to the configured AI provider. OpenAI supports Event Scout and image generation. Text features may use OpenAI or, where configured, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude. Event descriptions, audiences and image inputs can be part of a request. Do not include confidential personal information in generation instructions. Provider processing is subject to the applicable provider’s terms and data practices. Account verification and publication rules can be applied automatically; you can contact the site team for a review.
5. Service providers and payments
Hosting, email delivery, AI generation and any payment services configured on this site process information needed to provide their functions. Checkout identifies the payment method or provider used for your transaction. We retain order details and payment status to administer purchases; payment credentials are handled by the payment service when one is used. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, security incidents or a legal claim. We do not publish your support attachments or send them to an AI provider as part of ordinary support.
6. Cookies, browser storage and location
Sign-in, security, checkout and interface preferences use cookies or browser storage where required for those functions. Your browser lets you manage or delete cookies, although disabling necessary cookies can affect login and checkout. The built-in event view counter records approximate page visits rather than a profile of identified visitors. If you choose the location button, your browser asks permission to use your location to suggest a nearby area. The built-in nearby-area feature matches coordinates in your browser and does not send or store your precise coordinates on our server. External links and embedded content may use their own technologies under their own privacy policies.
7. Storage, security and retention
Account, listing and purchase records are stored in the site’s systems. Support images and generated downloadable materials use access-controlled private storage. We use permissions and other technical measures to limit access, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Retention depends on whether information is still needed for an active account, a listing, purchased benefits, ongoing support, record-keeping obligations, security or resolving disputes. Some records may need to remain after an account closes; backup copies are removed through the backup retention cycle. Service providers may process data in other countries. Contact us for details of the providers, locations and safeguards applicable to your information.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update account information in your portal and contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information. Depending on the law that applies, you may also request a copy in a portable format, restrict processing or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information required for legal obligations or legitimate unresolved matters.
Right to object
Where applicable, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. Send your request to [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Children, external websites and updates
Family-friendly event listings are intended to help adults plan activities. Organizer accounts and service purchases should be created by people legally able to enter the relevant agreement. Please do not submit unnecessary personal information about children. External websites have separate privacy practices. We may update this policy when our site or processing changes. Contact [email protected] with any questions about privacy at Living Brisbane.
